Health care centers interested in joining the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network must submit an application for review by a panel of experts in the field. Benefits national recognition, start-up funding, educational materials, research and clinical trial opportunities, and access to patient support resources. Centers must meet set requirements related to staff expertise, patient care, research, and education.

The Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network was established to help facilitate access to specialized care for those with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease. This is an opportunity to participate in a network of nationally recognized centers that share our vision and strategic goals.

Application Status

The CCN Application Review Committee reviews all applications in the order they are received, and notifications of acceptance are issued on a rolling basis. The rolling application period closed on March 2, 2026. Submitted applications undergo a comprehensive review process, which may take 6-8 weeks. Once the review is complete, applicants will receive an email notification with the final decision.

Benefits of Participation

The CCN allows both large health care centers and smaller pulmonary clinics the ability to be considered for designation. Members accepted into the CCN have increased visibility as well as the following opportunities:

  • National recognition as experts in the field​.
  • Start-up funding to support and maintain the CCN infrastructure.
  • Access to free educational materials developed in close partnership with leading experts and CCN partner advocacy groups​.
  • Opportunity to network among leading experts in the field​.
  • Opportunity to participate in clinical trials and research studies, as well as assistance with study recruitment.
  • Access to patient resources including patient support groups provided by NTM Info & Research, a CCN advocacy partner.
CCN Framework and Participating Site Requirements

The CCN framework and site requirements have been developed in close collaboration with experts on the CCN Steering Committee.


CCN Framework

Clinics participating in the CCN receive one of the following designations:

Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center: Centers with a multidisciplinary team of experts and resources on site that strive for timely diagnosis, provide comprehensive patient care, and participate in research studies and clinical trials. Care centers see and treat a large number of bronchiectasis and NTM patients annually and are deemed the expert centers.

Bronchiectasis and NTM Clinical Associate Center: Centers with a small team of experts and resources on site that strive for timely diagnosis and provide high quality patient care. Associate centers have an established network and system to refer patients to external health care providers for critical services not offered on site, and coordinate patient care among with external health care providers.


CCN Requirements

Designation criteria and center requirements include a comprehensive set of considerations, including but not limited to:

  • Personnel training, education, experience, and expertise
  • Clinical practice (experience diagnosing and treating bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease patients)
  • Institutional facilities and resources available for diagnosis and patient care
  • Involvement in patient education and engagement efforts
  • Participation in patient-centered research and clinical trials

Understanding the Application Process

Completing the CCN application is the first step to be considered for the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network. Information provided in the application helps determine whether an applicant center meets the requirements at either the Care Center or Clinical Associate Center level of the CCN.

To prepare for the application process, we have provided a list of helpful information and documentation to gather in advance of filling out the CCN application. All documentation is required for CCN designation consideration.

  • A list of current bronchiectasis and/or NTM research studies that your Center is currently conducting.
  • For Care Center applicants, a list of a maximum of 10 publications your Center Director has produced over the past three years. Clinical Associate Center applicants: if not applicable, upload a Word document stating No Publications.
  • Your Center’s institutional policy document confirming your protocol for diagnosis and treatment of bronchiectasis.
  • Your Center’s institutional policy document confirming your protocol for diagnosis and treatment of NTM lung disease.
  • Identified personnel who could fill the role of Center Coordinator.
  • Medical license and updated CV of the Center Director.

Below, please find the application process and anticipated timelines.

  1. Account Creation: Applicant creates an account and completes and submits the electronic application. Note: Applications do not need to be completed in one sitting. By creating an account, the applicant can work on the application in multiple sessions and save progress. A link is emailed to the applicant to set up an account to return as needed. (Note: Trouble locating your emailed link? Be sure to check spam and junk folders.)
  2. Submission and Review: Once an application is submitted, the applicant receives an email confirming receipt of submission. The application will undergo a comprehensive review. Note: this review process can take 4-8 weeks. During this time, there may be a request for more information sent to the applicant.
  3. Status Notification: The CCN Application Review Committee will review all applications in the order they are received, and notifications of acceptance will be issued on a rolling basis. If accepted into the CCN, a formal acceptance letter will be attached to the email, and onboarding instructions/next steps will be provided. If an applicant is not accepted into the CCN, feedback will be provided, with the intention of encouraging re-application.
